Hi, my name is John LaRosa, I’m the artist and owner of LaRosa Design, Stained & Fused Glass Art. Each one of my creations is a unique piece of art. I Graduated from Paier School of Art in Hamden, Connecticut with an Advertising & Graphic Design degree. I started my career at a small advertising agency in Connecticut and also did airbrush illustrations on cars, motorcycles and vans.

Taking my first stained glass class in 1978, I found working with glass to be very creative and enjoyable. I’ve been refining my style ever since. My wife Diane and I moved to Southern California in 1982 to Texas in 1987 Florida in 1989, and to Maryland in 1990. We lived and worked in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area for the next 10 years.

While working full time at one of the largest advertising agencies in Washington, D.C., I started doing more and more glass and developed my first tall lamp designs. I’m also an award winning freelance designer, a woodcarver, furniture maker, mural painter. We bought land in Weston, CO in 1994 and started building our home about 5 years later.

We moved to Denver and worked on the house and studio on weekends until it was ready to move into in December 2003. My home & studio is now in the mountains of Southern Colorado, where Diane and I live with our cat InkSpot. I have been refining my designs and each piece of art is one of a kind. The use of agates, marbles and findings, makes each piece even more distinctive.

I have also designed & developed 3 dimensional hanging panels that are very unique. My lamps have won several awards including First Place Lamp Design form Delphi Glass 2004, First Place Glass - TALAS Art Show 2004 & 2005 and Second Place overall - Churches Show 2004, Corazon Gallery. I have developed my own style of fused Dichroic glass jewelry with sterling silver and gold wire wrapping.
